Sketches: Blast from the Past

Buchan's early work

The beginnings of Buchan were modest.

The initial entry in our very first account book was dated 8 December, 1890,
“To Charles O’Connor for making a sketch plan for a patent spark arrestor as per instructions.”

The fee was one guinea – and it wasn’t paid!

Fortunately, small projects for homes, hotels, factories, commercial premises and recreation facilities as well as  large and recurring commissions, set our practice on its growth path.
