Perron Group reveals $1 billion plan for the future of Cockburn

Perron Group has revealed its 20-year vision to transform Cockburn, creating a new integrated and vibrant community heart which will seamlessly blend residential, commercial, retail and public open spaces.

Designed by Buchan, the masterplan prioritises lifestyle and connectivity envisioning a modern urbanscape in which locals can live, work, rest and play. Consultation with the community was key in ensuring the proposed project was both aspirational and responsive in its design; Perron Group General Manager – Property Investments, Andrew Byars, explains “A huge part of the feedback has been the community’s desire for a local heart – a strong urban centre that is vibrant both day and night, welcoming, safe and accessible for everyone.”

Central to the proposed $1 billion development – which will eventually be known as Cockburn Quarter – is a revamped and expanded Cockburn Gateway shopping complex which will also be designed by Buchan, continuing our longstanding involvement in the evolution on the centre.

“We’re proud to continue to work alongside Perron Group to help realise their vision for the future of Cockburn. As a local WA practice since 1896, it is particularly rewarding to be able to contribute to the future of our growing community with a development which will enhance local lifestyle and create enduring opportunity in the region” said Buchan Principal Andre Jones.

The proposed development has been lodged with the Western Australian Planning Commission for determination, for more information please visit the Cockburn gateway website.
